James 1:2 My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; 4 and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing.

While it may be hard to think of our trials as joy-filled times in our life, they definitely end up shaping us in important ways. God can uses the trials we face to bring about good. Think about the dark periods of your own life. What good came out of them? Did they help you grow in the ways James describes here – in faith, endurance and maturity? How so?
