⁹   But he says to his Son, 

God, your throne is forever 
and your kingdom’s scepter is a rod of justice. 
⁹ You loved righteousness and hated lawless behavior. 
That is why God, your God, 
has anointed you with oil instead of your companions.^e

Hebrews 1:8-9

In worship tomorrow, we will consider the “anointing” of Jesus and our own anointing – being chosen by God for a purpose. What do these verses and their subject, Jesus, who was anointed as “King” by God, reveal to us about God’s Kingdom?
